^ haha, that's such a wank. Slammed cars are hardly the unsafest things on the road. Yeah, having to wait for one to get over a speedbump is annoying, but I would love to see how many people injured/dead because of a slammed car. I bet more 4wd's have killed kids in car parks then slammed cars have injured/killed anyone.

Yeah but those 4wds aren't the cause of the incident, the dumbass behind the wheel is. They aren't inherently unsafe.

Racecars have very little ground clearance because they drive on very smooth surfaces.

The jack daniels V8 stooper car has 57mm of ground clearance, I expect they might bump this up for street circuits. (Road circuits like Albert Park were resurfaced to make them smoother before being used as a race track).

To maintain the best control over a rough surface the VW Polo World Rally Car raises their ground clearance by 95mm when they go from Tarmac to Gravel.

If you reach the end of your suspension travel while the car is pitching and/or rolling it will start to lift tyres and loose traction.

See how a rally cars wheels hang down? They're trying to ensure the wheels contact the road no matter how much the car is bouncing around on the road surface. Obviously they reach their limits once the car is this airborne.

As a comparison V8 supercars don't need the same amount of travel

You can set up your suspension to grip like a V8 supercar on the track but you'll probably reduce your amount of grip when you hit a rough patch of road or get the car really out of shape.

I find it amusing that people don't realise that really, we're all as dangerous as each other.

-People that slam their cars, way too much stress on suspension arms, wheel bearing etc. Not cool when it all falls apart.

-Performance guys, spirited driving... no matter how good you are. The bloke coming around that hairpin in the opposite direction on the wrong side of the road does not necessarily have any kill. So driving at speed will always be risky as you can't count on other road users to be any form of useful behind a wheel.

-Massive 4wd's that often JUST pass brake tests and have such a high roll centre it's spooky.

-People that like shiny cars. Have you ever tried to lean on one? Really dangerous.. you slip right off and break your back. Nah, in all seriousness, some of them are that anal that that will drive erratically because they are afraid of scratching or getting dirt on the nice cars to the point of swerving into another cars path (yes I have had this happen).

But, at the end of the day. We all would not change a thing.
I have my preference to spirited drives and being anal about keeping car clean.
I do try and keep common sense onboard. Dirt is better than crash and just a little caution does not hurt my thrill too much on a drive.

So downing someone else's preference is really saying, your a difference kind of dumbass to me and I don't like it.

I LOVE the look of a stanced car. Looks wicked! Could not own one, but can appreciate it.
4wd, would not own one.. but I can just imagine going down the rocks they do. not gonna happen in an mx5 that's for sure.

We all look like an idiot to someone, especially those with entirely no interest in cars thinking. They are ALL wasting their money. Why not support each other? Just seems logical yeah? We have enough people having a go at us without people in our own culture ratting on each other.
