Tyre choice is very individual and extreemly subjective.

I personally try to get 2 years out of a tyre. After that, the rubber starts going off.(thats what i've been told ) I usually do between 8-10k km per year so i try to choose a tyre which lasts me between 15-20k km

R compounds are completely pointless for a road tyre in my opinion. Road use absolutley kills them and you need to be going absolute apeshit to keep them in operating temp. On the road, road tyres are just better......most of the time....R compounds don't even warm up enough. [/rant]

if you want a sticky tyre which handle really well & dosen't give you a lot of warning before impending doom.....Try Azenis RT615

If you need you tyre to last 40-50k km....reasonably comfortable try the C drives. just don't drive them hard before you've done more than 1000 k's in them.


Somewhere in between....Toyo TR-1's are getting rave reviews.....but they need scrubbing in just like the C drives but don't take them to the race track . according to sources i trust.....they melt under racing coonditions.....but awsome on the road.

What is the correct tyre size for my 14's?i've just been hearing about ppl stretching smaller ones or fitting much wider ones. Whats the go with that?

They originally came with 195/55x14 which of course no one sells any more.

I've got 195/60x14s C-Drives on mine. Great road tyre, wrong size - they move about too much on the rim. 185/60x14 is the better size - especially if you go near a track.

i'm really liking my new c-drives. i can't beleive how quiet they are, road noise is virtually non-existant. the hanlding has definately improved since i fitted them, but that would have something to do with my new wheels as well (15 x 6 nb8a rims)

If you don't mind me asking Fatty, how much / corner for the C-Drives?

I'm looking at purchasing a set for my second set of rims, and the road noise from the standard tyre is very annoying.
