I'm having a big stab in the dark here...but has anyone got any experience or know anything about Tanabe springs?

It might be the angle at which the photo was taken....is your car still sitting rather high on the rear end?


I should have mentioned that the photo in my sig is even pre the bilsteins let alone the eibachs :oops: :lol:. I should get off my rear and take a couple of new pics shouldn't I. Maybe at the next club run in Feb.

The rear does sit a bit higher naturally on the NB even after lowering but thankfully its knowhere near as high as the photo now :mrgreen:

Yes it was the pro kit i got, no special spring rate or anything just whatever they are as standard. Some people say that you don't get to feel the progressive nature of the springs in an MX5 due to its short suspension travel. But I would disagree as they definitely ride better than the factory (but probably harder than normal) springs I had before.

Have a chat to Simone from Mania about it when they re-open as her advice was good.

Considering the price of those Eibach's are near on $600, I'm thinking there's gotta be a lot of choice out there. The thing is, I'm not sure what the characteristics are for different brands of springs...anyone can help?

I'm considering brands including:

Tein
Tanabe
Eibach
Whiteline
Kmac
anything decent I have missed

These are to fit onto the Clubman Bilsteins shocks, and I am looking to replicate or improve the handling while lowering the car.

Any advice/feedback appreciated!

I had a set of KYB agx shocks on some RSR springs out of Japan,and that felt good,then swapped springs to Tein S and they looked thicker than the RSR but found they rode softer,but it tends to bounce around if you power it around the corner,now I have a set of Bilsteins with these unknown progressive type spring,but it seems to ride very harsh and feel every bump,so it might be back to RSR and KYB's setup.
