 BEWARE  the evil inflator at shell station on corner of Warrigul and Dandenong Rd.

The airhose is cut up like someone went nuts with a razor. Told me 26psi on all 4, when it was filling to 20psi. Always use a new machine I guess.

Can't blame shell, it all falls on the owner of the store. I advised the dude inside, but a month later and it still looks like it was last serviced in the Whitlam era.

I used to use them, but heard later that there are infact not accurate, so Icve gone back to using the old manual pressure gauges at a local 'old skool' servo. Now I'm confused, are they accurate or not accurate? cos they are certainly easier to use.

Some are accurate and some aren't, just like the old fashioned gauges. According to my own tyre gauge the 7-11 across the road from my house is spot on, the Shell servo down the road puts about 2PSI extra in.

RACQ tested them all a while back. Turns out the electronic ones were mostly pretty good.

Probably 'cos on average they're newer. I use one all the time, but always check with my own gauge. The one I use Caltex, Dandenong Road, Frankston, reads a consisten 0.5 psi higher than my gauge. Of course, I can't guarantee the accuracy of mine either, but it's repeatable and as I always use the same one, that's more important.

Cheers,
