Hello All.
I'm doing a turbo conversion on my 1.6 NA and I find that the inlet pipe for the power steering is in the stupidest spot.
Do anyone have an alternative pipe that can be used or do people simple turn this one around and chop it down a little so it does not hit on the belt pulley?

Some (with an NA8) have rotated it & looked at an alternative:

Great thanks for the link. The NA6 one is a diffrent bolting method which looks like it can be turned 180deg but would hit the pulley. I'll just have pull it off and try a few diffrent things.

Hey im in the exact same position, it is in such a shitty spot and pretty must rests against my turbo inlet.
Did you find a way to rotate it? I want to try and flip and bend it up but im afraid I will break the part.

No worries.
I am thinking of making some sort of spacer and flipping it 180. Maybe around 20mm thick and then just trimming the existing line to fit.
My fabrication skills are questionable to say the least. We will see how it goes.

The pipe is a press fit into the flange on ssome models. I dont know which ones sorry i just try and turn and cut and weld where they are a brazed connection.
That is NOT a typo and blows everyones mind when they see one rotated.
Put the flange into a vice. Put a socket extention or something into the pipe and pull.
I did this originally expecting it to bend a little and (mind blown) it rotated.
It stays sealed and everything.

Ok, so I had a muck around with this pipe today.
It does not seem to be the one that is press fit and can rotate as trying to rotate it only started to crimp the base of the pipe.
Though in saying this I was able to rotate it enough to get it out of my way and allow a good path for the turbo outlet in between it and the Radiator hose.
I'm using a standard T25 from a SR20 for this conversion and I'm also trying to use as may of the standard parts as possible to make future upgrade and replacements easier.
I have attached photos of the pipe standard location (Last Photo).
Pipe off the car (Second last photo).
After bending Turbo Outlet path behind pwr steer pump. (2nd and 3rd photos)
I really did not need to bend it much just to give me that bit of room.
Also the first image is a thank you to Dan for the inspiration and information to make my own manifold.

nice job, I didn't bend it properly, should have kept it on the car.
Result
The flange warped slightly and even with some rtv it was dripping when I test filled the system.
I removed the whole P/S system and will be taking my A/C out as well so I am contemplating looping the lines as people say manual steering is great on these cars anyway.
Hopefully I don't regret it.

Ahh sh*t happens i guess.
Im sure you could always get a replacement pipe if you wanted to reinstall.
I also thought about going manual steer as well but i have been happy with the feel of the pwr steer on the track so planning on keeping it. At least if i allow for it to remain i always have the choice then.
