Hi
I bought some second hand Mazdaspeed MS-03 wheels a few years ago which ended up cluttering the garage. I finally went to get tyres fitted to them today, but it turns out that the valve stem is missing on one of the wheels. Apparently these Rays made wheels have a smaller diameter hole for the valve stem, and the local tyre fitters standard rubber valve stems don't fit.
Any idea where to get the small valve stems from? The other 3 wheels have a metal stem with a 90' bend attached. I did some googling this afternoon, and saw a mention that a motorcycle valve might fit?
Cheers.

Re: Valve stem on Mazdaspeed wheels
the 90 deg bend ones are the standard ones for the MS03.
You can purchase metal stems that screw in from the back and squeeze a rubber seal that should fit, that is how the original stems are fitted.
949 racing make these kind of stems, but I cant remember if they fit the 03 or not.
The other option is to have the stem holes drilled to suit standard stems
edit:
actually these randoms ones on ebay look about right

find something like that and confirm measurements with the seller before buying

Re: Valve stem on Mazdaspeed wheels
Thanks hks_kansei!
I considered drilling out the stem hole as well as a worst case solution.
I left the wheels with the tyre fitter to see if he could find any appropriate stems from his suppliers (he didn't sound hopeful hence this post). Turns out he had a result and now I've got 4 new 90 deg metal stems at 3 bucks a pop!
Wheels are now fitted with a set of RE002's and on the car, and the result is fantastic. The Old Girl feels like a new car now compared to the old 17's with very old rubber.
Happy chappy...
