Hey, has anyone tried these wheels and/or these tyres before, was thinking of using these as a track set for my NA8 Clubman.

I am using those tyres in our club sprint series with class wins more times than not.
I like them but other people have found they deteriorate.
I would be concerned about the strength of wheels that light/cheap applying the 'pick two rule'.

SSW are an in house brand of Stamford Tyres in Singapore. They are one of the bigger (if not biggest) tyre / wheel distributors in the SEA. Google them. They are a listed company.

You're looking at a business that is larger than a lot of Japanese wheel manufacturers AND own the distribution channel.

I'd question the weight of the wheel though...that is incredibly light for a 15x7.5 but that said, manufacturing nowadays...pretty damn good.

As an example, we (Works Engineering) contemplated getting into the wheel game and we had a manufacturer produce some for us (and SSR lookalike). The 15x6.5 is 5.5kg, it is a cast wheel, and it is strong...just look into NitroDann's garage thread - you can see what happened to his suspension and the wheel survived.

Point is, you CAN have cheap, strong and reasonably light...a lot of consumers just pay a huge mark up and premium for brands.

...and we had no chance in the wheel game against the likes of Stamford, YHI and a bunch of others in the region.

Most wheels that get used at our track days up here by other people are aftermarket and having said that not a lot of them are built with track use in mind. We've never had an instance where a rim has failed, I have however seen them on dedicated track cars and extremely fast ones at that . My opinion is that if you like them or the fit your budget buy them. I bought a set of cheap 5 spoke Tenzo wheels with the achilles tyres on them and haven't looked back. The tires are ok if you aren't super fast or are using them as a stepping stone to a proper R rated tyre but i went from a sport kumho tire to the achilles and took 2 seconds off. They have a good treadwear rating of I recall 120 so they have the potential to be sticky and you will notice coming from a street tire.

Cool, thanks for the info.
Might try to find a good 2nd hand set of 15s, and just go with the new 205/50 R888 ive bought in the past for my Rx7.
