30psi is a good base figure and when you start to understand the car and what it does or more to the point what you do to the car it is not difficult to alter the handling to suit, an extra 2psi in the rear is something that you can sense immediately.
As silvie says a good alignment is money well spent.

When playing with suspension and tyres it is a good idea to start with a datum and then log everything that you, small adjustments and time in the seat without distractions.
When you turn your car on, does it return the favour?
