Hello Every one,
I failed rego on my sway bars not being wide enough. So I ordered new sway bars and and it seems to be the same storry with the rear one.
Without having the link pins on a angle slash bent they will not work.
Wondering if it is normal for the link pins to be on an angle and not sraight up and down?
I am kind of lost and I only have till Friday the 18 of January to fix it.
Any information would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Andre

Take it to an intelligent mechanic - that's the way they were made. The angle of the link means nothing. And make him pay for the replacement sway bar too!

Initially reading OP it does seem like the mechanic is an idiot but if you think about it, it's actually not that bad and he's just a little ignorant.
Firstly, it would help to tell us what model car you have.
Secondly, assuming it's an NB, I theorise that the mechanic has seen a fair number of NA front anti-sway bar which has the end sections parallel to north-south, and with this in mind, he looked under your NB and saw that it's on an angle and incorrectly assumed you bent it out to fit.
Did he make a comment on the rear one or are you assuming he would?
Rear NA & NB anti-sway bar are pretty much identical.
If my above assumptions are wrong, then yes, mechanic is an idiot.

It's a NA6 actually. The mechanic was an idiot and I should have taken it else where but its done now.
I haven't stopped having troubles with the new sway bar though as the link pin bush keeps pulling out of the link pin. I'm going to take it back next week to the suspension place that have now seen the car two times already.
If they don't properly fix it this time I'm going to loose my calm big time.
I'm going to tell them I'm not paying for their time this time.
Fingers crossed it all gets fixed.
If anyone on the forum is willing to take a look in the ACT I'm happy to meet them some where etc?
