Can't afford coilovers, what shockies do you recommend?

Unless someone has a great success story of 200,000 trouble free kms on $1500 coilovers it looks like i'll be replacing my rooted dampers with more of the same. Any recommendations for a street/track compromise? Car is an NA6 bog standard but I'm open to increasing spring rates down the track if advised.

you wont get 200,000 trouble free kilometers from regular or aftermarket shockies either.

Not everybody finds Mazda factory configured MX5 Bilsteins comfortable, but Heasmans, the NSW distributor of Bilstein, advised Bilsteins allow for 5% wear in their product for every 100k kms. Jonosx, on here, who works for Heasmans has similarly indicated that they'll be close to fully effective after many kms as long as they don't leak.

I installed clubman bilsteins that were over 200k old with no problems at all. I've now done a further 60k with no major sign of wear. I matched these up with fat cat bump stops and lowered progressive rate springs and they're a perfect all rounder for daily, spirited and track driving. Koni adjustable are another great shock. All up this Combo will set you back less than 1k providing you shop around or buy second hand.

Does anyone know if the Koni 8041-1203/1204sports have a full length stroke/will work with standard height coils?

I have Koni Yellow (Sport) shocks on my NB8A with standard springs. A bit firmer than stock shocks, but do cope better with the bumps than the originals. Absolutely no problem with fitment.

Shox.com were out of stock so I missed out on their 30% off sale. I went with Koni sports bought locally with ground control coilover kit (400/275) sent from the US. I can't wait to fit them and go for a drive.

7.2/5.0kg spring combo. that'll be nicer than the regualr 8/6 you see floating around.

Fitted the rear shocks at 9pm the night before the WAmx5club "funkhana" and they made a huge improvement. I'm itching for my GCs to come in.

The dust boots were perished and just crumbled to bits. I refitted the bumpstops but I want to replace the dust boots. Where to get them?

I recommend getting FatCatMotorsport bumpstops and dust boots if you can get them.
