NB8A wheels - how to remove centre caps?
I realise this is a completely newbie type question. I want to remove the centre caps to do some painting but there does not seem to be a an obvious method of doing so. My previous car had a recessed section on the wheel nut covers, to place a screwdriver and simply pry it out. Is there a particular spot on the NB8A wheels? Or will anywhere do? Thanks.

Would it be remove the wheel then tap the centre cap through?
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

You didn't say what type of rims you have.
Enkei caps have a metal spring-clamp that locks them in place from the inside of the wheel and you need to pry that off to pop out the cap.
Spend a few minutes doing this first, it might save your caps.

If they are just the stock wheels, place a flathead screwdriver between the cap and wheel and place some leverage on each of the four points. They should pop right out (I just tried this method on mine; it took 10 seconds to remove one cap).

just push them from the inside out. any kind of rod, stick it through the hub nut hole in the wheel, hit rod with hammer.

Yeah, I use the opposite end of a hammer to knock them out.
