NC Alloy wheel colour

Postby elpowell » Thu Mar 22, 2012 3:34 pm

I snagged some wire today and need to touch up one wheel. I'm told Mazda don't supply touch up paint. Does anyone know either the colour of standard 06 alloys, or where to get a small bottle of touch up paint please.

Safe driving guys

Simplest would be to go to your local Supercheap/Autobarn/Autopro/etc and have a look at the paint section.

If you ask nicely they'll normally let you take a few cans into the carpark to compare to the car.

A small brush on bottle was about $8 last I bought one, and a small aerosol was about $12

If you buy the brush one, make sure to also go to an art shop or similar and buy a very thin paintbrush too.
The brush supplied with the bottle is awful.

I guess you're right and a visit to town is required but unfortunately my nearest auto shop is a mornings drive away. I did have some "aluminium" paint I tried and though it looked a reasonable match on a bit of paper, on the wheel it was quite different. I hoped someone had already solved the problem to bypass my limited paint matching ability.

I'll post if I find a good match

Thanks again
