My primary purpose for buying my MX5 was for track days, motokhana's, etc and whilst I've been using it more on the road than I originally intended - the car is just a toy.
Up until this point in time I've been using NA8 brakes with 2nd hand stock Mazda pads. These have lasted me two years of track days and road use. I never expected to get so much life out of them but I have, and they've worked ok until this point.
I need new pads before the next track day and I have been considering just buying some more Mazda NA8 pads.
I've never had a problem with the upgraded NA8 brakes/pads at QR or Lakeside but since my last track day the car 'should' be quicker in 2011.
Can anyone suggest an alternative pad for this application and why you would choose it over the OEM?

I only ever used OEM pads in our NA8 and was happy with their performance and durability. Likewise, I'm happy with OEM on the NC.

I'm using QFM A1RM. Huge difference over OEM in terms of stopping power. They're fine for the street as well - they need a little bit of warmup but not a huge amount.

+1, not too much dust either.broady wrote:I'm using QFM A1RM. Huge difference over OEM in terms of stopping power. They're fine for the street as well - they need a little bit of warmup but not a huge amount.
Lucas are the same in terms of friction and heat range, but they make s@#tloads of dust.

They seem to be out of stock of QFM A1RM in my size. I'll see if they can get more in or else it'll be stock again I guess.

My Hawk HPS were good on the road and track, zero fade on the track with good pedal feel/modulation, but they didn't bite as hard as I expected them to.
I want to try EBC YellowStuff next.
Why don't you try them now and tell me how they are
