Hi guys,
been a while since I posted here.
I recently changed the rear pads on my nb8b and noticed the driver side rear caliper was a little dirty (especially compared to the rest of the car) so cleaned it.
now it seems to be leaking heaps (about a week to go from max to min on the master cylinder, and sprayed fluid all over the inside of the wheel/tyre and cv joint)
Also the handbrake feels a bit off (like it's out of adjustment - need to pull it up further than normal for it to properly engage)
I had a mate look at it who does brakes for a living and he said it looks like it's leaking where the handbrake mechanism goes into the caliper but can't tell for sure as it's been sitting in the shed since I discovered the brake fluid all over the wheel late last week.
My question is this:
Can you get seal kits for these, if so are they worth doing and easy enough to do (my mate is worried there will be heaps of needle bearings etc that might be tricky if we rebuild) also where do you get them? mx5parts.co.uk list a 90-99 rebuild kit for 14GBP
Failing that is it better to get a second hand caliper to replace and if so who separates these from a full set of nb8b brakes - do mx5mania or are there some other mazda wreckers that keep '5s?
Regards,
Clinton

Just reading around and sounds like I didn't wind the adjusters back in properly, is this likely to cause a leak or is there more likely to be another seal or two that are problematic? The write ups I can see (for the earlier cars at least) say to wind the adjuster screw back in until tight then back of 1/4 to 1/3 of a turn - is this correct for NB8B also?

Im wondering if the seal kits for the early MX5 works for the NB8B
Im looking at buying this kit
http://www.mx5parts.co.uk/product_info. ... cts_id/306
From what I have read its a pain to do need really really long needle nose pliars...

Email response from mx5parts.co.uk is that they are different but they (mx5parts) don't carry the rebuild kit for the big brake cars.
I've got to fill out a special parts request to see if they can track it down
