As a wild card I threw in Federal 595SS's as I have heard good things about them.

In that size they are load rated at 80 - apparently the MX5 has a load rating of 83. But these were discounted heavily and came in at $130.00.

At this stage I am keen on the P Zero Nero's having had them before and very much liking them.

I wouldn't bother with the 595SSs. I have the 595RSs, though, and they're awesome.

The current Motor magazine that came out on Wednesday has its annual tyre test in it so that might be of interest to you.

I, missed buying a copy of Motor magazine with the tyre review and can't find a shop that as any in stock.

Could someone display their results for road and race tyres, would be much appreciated.

The new Goodyear F1 Asymmetricals won the street tyres. The Dunlops won the R-comps again.

That's all I can remember from memory...

It annoys me that they don't test the street compound semi-slicks. These are the tyres that I put on my cars (Liberty has RT615s and MX-5 has 595RSs, I'm thinking about trying the KU36s too) so I'd really love for them to test them.

So I got the Bridgestone Re001s and so far i'm extremely happy with them. Done around 600-700 kms. Very grippy in the dry and also the wet. Low noise if any. Only thing I noticed was a bit of sidewall movement when pressures were set at 32psi. I have increased pressures to 36psi all round and noticed much less sidewall movement, still loads of grip and yet the ride is still great. Have a my first track day coming up at Wakefield in early February, and then another at Marulan in March, so can't wait for these 2 days.
All in all so far I can definitely recommend this tyre.

PS. can anyone recommend a tyre pressure for Wakefield or Marulan for the Re001s?
