Quick question, brake rotor size?

Postby Moto » Wed Sep 16, 2009 1:57 pm

Hi guys I'm ordering some new rotors and the guy wants to know the rotor size to make sure he gets the right ones.

I need to know the size of NB8A and NB8B front rotors please. I did a search but came up empty :?

Ok so all NB8B's are 270? The brake guy was confused with the turbo models.

Cheers for that.

I've been stairing at that document for 15 minutes, and I still can't work out if the rear sizes are the same?

For the NB8B it says the rear is 276? which is bigger than the fronts!

EDIT: scratch that, looks like all rear's are the same apart from SE and Ti

Rule of thumb

All Australian NB8B/C of any model definition have the 270mm fronts, (pads apparently vary but that's a side issue)

The only difference to the above rule is if it is an AUTO which will have the smaller brakes of the NB8A as well as a painted/brighter version of the stock NB8A rims.

There were about 7 autos sold during the time these models were available, so coming across a little brake NB8B/C isn't going to be a common event.

Yes the rears are bigger but I think you'll find they're about half as thick as the fronts.

edit: just had a look at the above link - the confusion stems from this entry "incl. Titanium & SP Turbo Auto" these were never available as an auto. The listing should just say "NB 1.8 Auto"

The next listing is also incorrect "8/03 - 5/05" should be "sometime in late 2000 - 05/05" to reflect when the NB8A was updated to the NB8B up until the end of the model run.

Hope this helps

Went for a drive and there were slow cars everywhere, why are NC's so common . . . must be NC = Normally Cardiganed.

NB8A rear rotors are 255mm for the front and 250mm for the rear according to DBA, that's all NB8A's and any NB8B onward auto. Manual NB8B onward are 270mm front and 276mm rear. You can always just go down to your car with a tape measure, take a wheel off the front and the back and measure to be certain. You won't be able to do it perfect with the suspension in the way but you can still tell if it's 250mm or 270mm to put yourself at mind.
