I am restoring my 91 NA6 to showroom stock specs. Need new springs and shocks, but genuine Mazda parts too expensive.
Can anyone recommend good after market brand and supplier (Brisbane) to return car to as new factory specs. Keeping
original 14" daisy wheels.

Are you restoring the car to concourse condition with no aspiration for track use?
If so, then contact Richard at MX-5Plus.

He has standard dampers and springs which are low-mileage, or Bilstein dampers and Mazdaspeed/Eibach springs in various condition.
I also have OEM dampers and springs if interested.

I don't think it will ever be concourse condition as I like driving it too much, but don't want it so hard as to be uncomfortable. Will participate in club track days for fun and don't really care if I'm the slowest car on the day. I've spoken to Richard and he said the original setup was pretty good. He's seen lots of wheel/tyre/suspension fiddles that have made them better and worse, a bit of a black art. Think I will stay with factory specs.
How many kms have your OEM dampers and springs done and how much do you want for them?

My experiences with KYB on a NA 8 years ago was that they were overdamped for the stock springs. So unless they have backed them off since then or you are going to go for a firmer spring, I'd choose something else.

Thanks for your comments. 50/50 response on KYBs. Got on to a good used set of OEM struts I'll try first.
