Wheels - Dish Style

Apart from Watanabe's and the various look-alikes out in the market place. What other dish style alloy wheels are there in the market place for the MX5 (NA-NB : 4x100)?

I currently have one for my NA that came off an early 90's 3 series BMW that is old school style (15x7 +35 offset). I was after a bit more contemporary style.

My preference will be 17" or 16" diameter with a lower than +40 offset and about 7-8 inch width.

Any ideas?

Do you mean lower than +40, as in +20?

IMO 16"+ on an NA is too much.

They look better with smaller wheels, but hey it's up to you.

Plenty of wheels out there just need a budget.

I got a quote from Work's aust retailer and they said that for a 15" Meister in custom width and offset would be a bit over $3,000

a lot of money, but not that bad for good quality and custom made.

Most of the parameters are already there, ie 15" 4lug (they don't discern 4x114 & 4x100 in the parameters however), but it's just a matter of finding the right offset and widths
(liberal use of google translate is recommended)

As a ballpark figure, my set of mazdaspeeds sold at Y32000 translated to about 1200AUD shipped with tyres attached

I still call 3k for a set of wheels expensive - especially for 15's. and they are not custom. they have a completely modular design so can change offsets by 1mm each way and widths .5 inch up to 9's i think. btw you are getting shafted i got quoted 2600 for 15 x 8's with a funny offset in the same wheels. maybe exchange was better?

While i had it i used bbs RGF 15x7 33 offset....very old kool school.

Have a troll around on the early bmw and vw golf forums....You never know what may be for sale...

it's a lot of money, but it didnt sound unreasonable to me for having any width/offset.

yeah, wouldntsuprise me if there's exchange rate differences and probably a bigger markup for no apparent reason yet they blame the economic downturn.

Hardly any markup, the yen fell 40% now it's up around 30%.

Good yen I could get them in at ~$2.1K shipped to Australia.

But since one wheel will cost around 40,000YEN x 4 wheels= 160,000

Also shipping is around Y40,000 (note shipping charges are always in yen)

So that's around Y200,000 with current exchange rates that's AUD$2.9k delivered.
