BC Coilovers

BC Coilovers, at $1250 that's cheap and as far as I can tell from reading up I cant find anything wrong with them. Alot of WRX guys are fitting them and the reports all seem really positive, or at least I cant find any bad ones. Thinking of fitting these when the Teins are worn out. Unless someone knows something about them I cant find?

The American guys reckon that Flex, Stance and Flex Mono are better for a little bit more, in ascending order

Guys with Evo's are praising them, they are comfortable and soft for street use, but click up the dampening and it's "ready to race".

From what I have heard, it's a Taiwan brand "BorChuan", and they make the base spec Apexi coilovers and the Greddy range and Megan and probably some other "jdm" brands.

I guess the only real way is to try them out personally, if the yen doesnt go up next year... which is likely it won't, I'm probably going to use them.

I believe they would be better than the G4/D2 coilovers though,

There MUST be a reason why they are cheap? Quality? Longetivity?

They are manufactured in Taiwan, so it's more cheaper.

Well as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

If you want something to last long and be of good quality, get something proven, ie/ Tein, Bilstein etc.

If you want something cheap you can't expect much from it, it might be fine for a couple of months then it leaks, or something else fails, though it could be a hit and miss.

No offence here 1red5 but it these sort of comments that made me buying suspension really really hard. Plus most of the people having opinions on these tend to have had nothing to do with them. Again no offence meant as you are probably just repeating what you have read elsewhere. If you look at the G4,D2 and K-Sport you will see that they are quite different from these ones. From my reasearch it does appear that Megan and Apexi are made in the same place, and I might add BC to that now as these look very similar albiet slighty updated from mine. I have a set of Megan Racing coilovers in my car and I am very happy with them. They work on the same principal as Tein Flex in that you can decrease the length of the shock body which is ultimately better than other methods of lowering because you aren't decreasing the length of the shock travel. They are a very firm shock though as they have 10kg spring on the front and 8 on the back. Also the pillowball upper mounts don't add to the refinement but overall I am very pleased with them. I have them set at about 14 front and back and although some bumps can still be jarring because of the springrate it always feels damped which is what I want. Hopefully this clears up some misconceptions and at half the price of teins which quite a few people say are too soft you can buy 2 of them . Might need to as well because I have no idea where you can get them rebuilt

No offence taken Ben as you are right, I'm pretty much regurtating what I heard/read from various "respectable" sources.
Way back when the $US and $AUD was closer together to 1:1 I was uhmming and ahhing about Megan, Tein and HKS coilovers.
I researched and asked lots of questions here and other forums and decided that due to both cost and conflicting opinions, I erred on the safe side and bought 2nd hand Konis & Eibachs.
