I've been driving a new NC for 2 weeks now and based on the tyre pressures in the car when it was delivered, I have little faith in the pre delivery service.
Is there a wheel alignment specialist in Perth who can do a good job on the NC, stock standard?
Your reccomendations would be appreciated.

As for your tyre pressures, 29psi as on your door plate is fine. Don’t get sucked into putting 36psi+ into the tyres cause you will bounce from bump to bump and loose cornering grip.
Join the WA MX-5 Club, they will \"steer\" you in the right direction.

Wheels World in Osborne Park do a good job with 10% discount for MX-5 club members. They will align to your specs, so have a look at what other NC's are using and take the settings with you. Not as cheap as a generic job, but you will get exactly what you want.

Thanks for your replies. I have joined the MX5 club of WA and will speak to the guys at the next get together.
Basically looking for someone who can say \"from my experiance, this is what I think you should do....\" I'm not very technically minded but do notice my rear wheels slope upwards / \\ when viewed from the back. Dont know if this is normal but want to get it checked out.
I was told that Wheelspin use someone \"around the corner\" and was hoping to get a name so I could make an appointment.. perhaps I will call them in the morning..

To answer your question, yes, your rear wheels should look like / \\ from behind. That's negative camber that we talk about.
The amount of negative camber for a standard NC on the rear is about 1 degree and on the front a quarter of a degree however you can increase this another ½ degree to further improve your handling without any noticeable increase in tyre wear. I’m currently running -2 degrees and have run up to - 2 ½ degrees on the rear but then that’s aimed at track days and not normal road use.
Some of the racing boys in the US of A are now running half a degree more negative camber on the front compared to the rear. This is to improve the understeer in low speed corners that the NC has. I have test yet to test this but may give it a go before our next track day as I want to back my camber off a bit.

Yup, John and Bob at Wheelsworld in Ozzie park has done MANY club MX-5s including my own.
You can ask for a discount because you're in the MX-5 Club, I don't think there's an official percentage, probably more on a case by case basis.

I have been pointed to another mx5 guru at bridgestone in welshpool.
I was told he races lots of rx-7's or that he used to and that he knows a lot about how mx-5s should be.
That was just a refferal a good friend gave me but it might be worth a look.
The bridgestone there is on the corner of Sevenoaks and John street in Welshpool. Can't remember the guys name but Okibi might know something more...

Thanks for the replies guys, Wheelspin directed me to the Bridgestone place in welshpool. Have made an appointment for next week as he is tied up with the v8's tomorrow and the whole weekend.

Can't go wrong with Kerry Wade owner of B'Stone Bentley.
He has been racing since he was a kid and sets up all the LF Performance race cars. Won WA Street Car state championship 5 years in a row in the blue LF Performance FD RX7 and even set up Kim Ledger's own EVO 6 tarmac race car (seen usually at the AHG driving centre).
He also set up my car, which is now finally spot on - in fact don't take my word for it and ask ex-Dutton rally campaigner Warwick Gates who has test dríven my car and can't believe how it changes directions now.
Kerry will also be setting up Andrew's NB8 turbo next week with complete coilovers & SuperPro bushes together with the alignment.
He is just an \"old skool\" laid back guy that has so much knowledge its not funny.
See him racing the Sports Salon car next weekend when the V8 SuperCars come to town.
