I had Pirelli dragon's on my NA6 and wasn't overly impressed by them.

This was about 6 years ago so they might have improved, but they seemed average until they were really warmed up. This was in comparison to Falken GRB's which I had been through a couple of sets of previously. The Pirelli's provided a more comfortable ride, and were certainly harder wearing, but as a performance, non-slick type tyre, there are certainly better ones around imo.

If they still require some warming up before giving optimal grip, I wouldn't think they'd be too good for motorkhana.

Pirelli reinvented the dragon a couple of years ago, & from what i heard from tyre dealers, they aren't a bad tyre for their price range

I have them on my car in that size too. See comments in this thread.

Harsher than the Turanzas but about the same harsh feel as Yokohama A539s in 185/60 14 oddly enough. :? Must have very stiff sidewalls. I think the Turanzas gripped better too.

They seem to grip better with age and temp. I got mine for $110 ea with club discount and thought \"why not\" at that price - great at track days.

They are supposed to be in the ultra high performance range. Would I get them again? Probably not.

They're good on my Acclaim. No idea about the 5 though.

My boss wasn't to impressed with the Pirelli's on his SV6. He switched to Preceda2's and said the diffrence was like night and day, especially in the wet. In his size the price was fairly close, but I think there might be a fair difference in price in 15\". I guess you get what you pay for.

Did a quick ring round yesterday, pricing Preceda II’s in 205x45x17.
Surprised that BJ’s had the cheapest price at $218 each.

The interesting thing was that if the width went up to 215 to price went up $95

More than happy with the price as 18 months ago BJ’s charge $230 each for 205x45x16 on the original Precedas.

So after I were the current tyres out on Phillip Island I’ll fit the PII’s

They should be, you should expect a family car like tyre like the C-drive to be quieter than an ultra performance tyre. On the Yoko tyre matrix, I think the 539's were out about where the ES100's are now.
