Repainting wheels

Postby Uncle Arthur » Mon Jul 24, 2006 2:53 pm

Anyone got any recommendations regarding painting the spokes of mags?

I'm thinking of a colour change to a nice gunmetal grey (spokes only) and retaining the rim as silver.

Please have a look at the pics below and give me thoughts on whether it would look OK.

Swap wheels with me for a couple of months if you're bored!
That's the cheap way of getting a change

I was actually thinking of offering/inviting a wheel swap via the forum - I'd quite like to try out some of the VOLK styled wheels - 6 spoke, grey/silver finish, even in a 16 if someone was interested.

You've seen mine, if you're interested post me a pic of what's potentially on offer.

Mine are balanced, UNSCRATCHED, 15x6.5 with Yoko A539's with 80% or more tread.

Sorry Jules - it didn't quite come out right ........it wasn't intended as a blowoff - but.......in a round about way - I could swap my wheels for Jules, then if anyone wants a nice (and I do mean NICE) set of NB wheels, and has something that might interest me, then we can negotiate.....

(anyone seen One red paperclip?????)

I think your wheels look good the way they are UA, but I must admit that I'm a silver finish fan.

Speaking Volk style wheels, these are the ones I'm looking at at the moment

Image

Come in
Size: 16 x 7.0 and 17 x 7.0
Hole: 4 / 5
PCD: 98 - 114.3
Offset: 15 - 40

Or these:

in
Size: 16 x 7.0
Hole: 4 / 5
PCD: 98 - 114.3
Offset: 15/40/45

These are BSA and should be pretty cheap.

If your in sydney and want your rims re-painted to which ever colour you want, you can get it done cheaply.

PM for further details

PS no im not a rim repairer, I had my rims redone on my previous ride and it turned out pretty good.
