Pasta,
Could you please provide size & weight for those wheels. I've tried contacted BSA who told me they were 6.5kg - heavier than stock....
Cheers,

the BSA rims are 15x6.5, had no chance just to weigh the rims, BSA quoted me 7kg. The original rims with new Michelin Pilot Precedas weigh 14.7kg, the BSAs with half worn Goodyear Eagle F1 weigh 13.9kg, so either the claimed 5.9kg for the stock rim is wrong, or the Michelins are heavy tyres! As I indicated previously, rim weight may matter less than the choice of tyre, as regards overall unsprung weight
185/55 R15 Pirelli P6000 = 7.9kg
195/50 R15 Toyo T1-S = 7.9kg
195/50 R15 Bridgestone Potenza S-03 PP = 9.4kg
195/50 R15 Eagle F1 GS-D3 = 8.2kg
195/55 R15 Eagle F1 GS-D2 = 9.2kg
205/45 R16 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D2= 8.5kg
205/45 R16 Pirelli P0 A = 8.5kg
205/45 R16 Dunlop SP9000 = 8.1kg
205/45 R16 Dunlop W-10 = 8.9kg
205/45 R16 Yokohama A520 = 9.0kg
205/50 R16 Pirelli P7000 = 9.1kg
205/40 R17 Pirelli P7000 = 8.11kg (see above)

BTW does anyone have a link to Michelin tyre weights?

Total cost of rim straightening was $312, for 3 rims, but the waddle problem is definitely eliminated. The alignment and new tyres may have helped to some degree, but I drove the car today 1st time with new rubber on the freshly trued rims, and it steered absolutely beautifully.
BTW, the alignment shop told a work colleague that they'd used the specs I provided on a couple more MX5s, and had very happy customers.
My specs came from http://www.hummingbirds.net/alignment.html
with a couple of minor changes.
