LIGHTWEIGHT TRACK RIMS

Postby fish » Fri Jun 30, 2006 5:31 pm

I have been hunting around a while now looking for different options on a lightweight wheel for track use only. Can anyone offer any suggestions on what to get and where to buy ?? I am not too worried about looks as long as they do the job !! Any advise greatly appreciated....

Try the Starcorp that Mania sell. They are very cheap, light and strong... although I think they look crappy.

Which would be a better size for track rims?? 14's or 15's??

14's are cheap, but tyre choice is smaller. 15's cost more, but more tyre choices in terms of new and 2nd hand.

What do you guys reckon?

we can see that you weren't watching the F1!

you make good points about tyre availability - it is limited when youa re on 14"s, although you can get some good competition rubber ($$$)

I went to 15" rims for the availability of tyres and Im quite happy with the gearing and acceleration available
