Eibach Springs

hey there, i'm wondering if anyone knows the spring rate of the Eibach pro kit coil springs, i'm looking at buying a set and was after some feedback if anyone has used them in the past, they will be matching with koni height adjustable shocks

In theory, and these figures are for an NB,

Front 210 lb/sq" Stock 150 lb Kings 250 lb
Rear 50 lb/sq" Stock 110 lb Kings 220 lb

I have had both Kings and Eibachs, on my NA and NB, and Eibach's the way to go :D

Although I have heard that the Tein's are almost as good as a Koni / Eibach setup 8)

I've got the Koni/Eibach combo, not height adjustable though, only dampner adjustable. I absolutely LOVE it! It's nice and firm with little body roll but still giving enough not to jarr the car or yourself when going over potholes etc. :)

Swizzel - I have a spare set of Eibach springs that I have taken off my NA a few weeks ago as they were a tad too low for my driveway. Ride height for the fronts +/- 200mm (part # 5515101 04,03), rears +/- 230mm (part #5515102 03,03) if I remember correctly. The springs a nicely made and really improve the turn in, no too harsh etc.
I see you are on the Sunshine Coast - I live near Nambour. If your interested in buying them or if you want to take a look at them for length. quality etc thats not a problem, let me know on tinker.steve@laminex.com.au

spewing mate, i just bought a set, so they are on the way, what shocks do you have in the car, and did you find that they worked well with the springs

I fitted the springs to Ohlins shocks and they worked very well apart from the height factor previously mentioned. You will notice a big difference in roadholding if you are upgrading from the standard shocks.

I though all Eibachs had a variable spring rate, so you get a good ride but when compressed a bit, they get harder and harder.

I had a set on my '99 and I thought they were excellent, even with the standard shocks.

Benny - Eibach probably make both but mine are linear springs and not progressive. Theres pro's and cons for both types....

I'm happy with my Eibach's and Bilstein Sports. My car rides like most lowered MX-5's and it would not be to my grandmothers liking. If anything, I'd like them a bit stiffer, but it makes for a good street spring.

sttevetinker, mate i'm interested on your opinion of the ohlins coil overs (i'm assuming they are fully adjustable coilover type). There's a set for sale and I am interested in some feedback. I've got the Koni's in the car at the moment but would like to get something possibly more competant.

and are the na and nb coilovers interchangable.

NA and NB coilovers are NOT interchangeable.

Hi again swizzel - sorry about the delay in answering, been up to my armpits for the last couple of days....
Ohlins equipment are regarded by the motorcycle crowd to be the finest shocks and forks made for two wheels - fitted to just about all World Superbike's and MotoGP teams. After saying that, they also make shocks at the other end of the scale which are still regarded as being as good as (say) Koni and Bilstein. Its just that they don't have a big profile in Australia compared to Europe. Mine are at the bottom of the scale, I bought them ex Japan car and have no regrets. Like most aftermarket shocks, they are infinately better than worn OEM units.
If you are still on the coast, you can always come round and try them out in my car and that way you can confirm their suitability...
