Bumpstops

Postby r0gue » Thu Feb 16, 2006 2:04 pm

I'm looking to install a set of king springs, and already have Koni's setup. I was looking to run low perch rear and mid front. When installing the Koni's I was looking at the bumpstops and trying to figure out which part & how much will need to be cut with the kings install.

Referencing this site: http://www.virkki.com/jyri/miata/bumps.html it would appear that as mine is a 91 NA, that the 'old' style bump stops are being used.

When installing the Koni's the top of the bumpstop had to be drilled out so I'd presume that any cutting would occur from the bottom upwards???

Does anyone have any feedback in regards to cutting the bumpstops? Pics would be a great help.

The FM website has good info. basically the boot and the middle "donut" should be cut off, leaving just the upper block and the metal plate.
