Replacement dipstick

Postby Jeo » Sat Jan 11, 2020 2:26 pm

Hey folks,

My NB had the standard broken pull on the dipstick when I bought it so had been using vice-grips to pull it out. Checking the oil today and the last bit of the plastic just broke away from the stick so it's probably time to find a replacement. I see Mania has them for $40 + postage. Any other ideas?

I drilled a small hole in the remaining plastic & put a ring through it - a spring wire ring used for keys.

If you do replace it, make sure you get the right one. There are a few different ones, so check the length before you start using it.

Found an identical one as a backup in a Mazda 323 or similar at the wreckers.
