Hi I’m back been a couple of years
Just got my hands on a stock 2001 NB
Looking at exhaust for it
Has anyone got a x-force muffler and what do you think about them

Town and Country Geelong do one for MX5- tried and proven for sporty sound and no drone and well priced.

And if I don’t live in Geelong
As I’m in Brisbane
What I’m asking is are the off the shelf pre built systems any good
Eg I can get full stainless for $500
Or get a exhaust shop up to build one and it will cost double that
Is this forum still the go to place for info like it was ten years ago

Not many off the shelf ones available locally to the best of my knowledge. NitroDann makes does exhausts, he built one for my SE using an X-Force muffler, high-flow cat and a hotdog resonator out of 3" Stainless. My car is turbo, so not quite apples to apples comparison, but it's a great system, however it will cost more than $500 I think.
I'm in Brisbane and Dann shipped it to me via courier, you could email him from his website, PM him on here, or look him up on Facebook and get a quote.

I have no issues with it, but it's personal preference and my car is "muffled" somewhat by the turbo. I also hear good things about the Magnaflow. At the end of the day it'll come down to what you're after, do you want something with some noise, or something almost stock quiet?

Changing it to get some noise out of it.

If you're just looking for some extra noise, at a lower cost, one of the most cost effective ways is to use a muffler from an SE.
Direct bolt on, usually cheap as dirt to buy, and gives more of a note than stock non-SE does.

Got a full system from Gary Stewart/Rob Bliss/CES Racing in SE Qld years ago. It was available individually or as a whole - IIRC cat back was $400-$500. Have been very happy with it, but don't know if they're still available.

How did you go with it? I'm after a full system for my 2003 NB as well. It's stock at the moment and I might do some power mods in future. Thanks
