I think my COILS have packed it in.Its that or the CAS
so the idea of COPS has been fast tracked because they want a very unreasonable amount of money for the NA6 Coils. Depending where you purchase your COPS from, it will even work out cheaper if your willing to do the wiring yourself and even if it works out a little more expensive. Its still an upgrade

I know all the Toyota COPS probably fit.
Ive seen the ones recommended in various treads.
then there is the top plated which are designed for a particular COP. to hold the down

COPs prices vary significantly.

Is the good COPS.....and not so good COPS?

any recommendations? Ive seen them on e-bay, Ballenger Motorsport, Amazon, various other Australian motor spare parts places.

I dont mind paying more if the end result is a stronger spark or is better for E85 Cold starts & so on. but there is a limit to that

not going down the LS3 path....

I ordered my toyota cops through the local autobarn. They were oem replacement toyota denso type with part no.# 90919-02262. I believe they're for a 1zzfe engine.
Plugs were ordered through bellinger motorsports as a kit with new pins to crimp rather than pigtail style also available.
The local fabricators welded bungs on the cam cover which were tapped to bolt coils down, however using the mounting plates offered commercially would be a better option. Fabbing one yourself would be easy enough also.

What's your issue with the LS3 path?
No aftermarket ECU? (that's a very good reason NOT to use them).

Toyota COPS are yesterday's solution and are not without their own problems, otherwise no-one would have bothered to use the LSx plugs.

Beavis can supply the whole setup if you need it.

Ha ha...the NA6 is last meliniums solution.....

My issue is with the LS3 is that
its overkill foe a 150-160 rwhp motor.
The LS3 solution will be worth more than the car
Its not a turbo.
We all love Beavis but i cant afford that.

You're right, the NA6 is not a spring chicken so doesn't need the newest tech thrown at it.

I put brand new aftermarket COPs on mine and had one fail within 100kms.

Went to wreckers and bought second hand genuine ones off a 2000 Corolla and have never had one single issue since.

Several years and hundreds of 7000rpm track laps later , and all still well...

Same story as Rascal's. The COPs that I finally bought and that have lasted 6 years on a standard ECU came off a Lexus V6 via eBay US.

OMG I'm in knee deep.
Got some Denso Coils off a local wrecker along with the connectors
at least from the top . They look very mych like SPEEDS.

Wired up the harness still No spark.
having another go tomorrow,

Then I guess I'll start looking at the CAS.....

ohh well I always wanted COPS....now I gotta get the CAS under the radar

...

I have had the opposite problem. On the race track (8000rpm) my second hand Toyota Corolla COPs are gradually failing (3 in 2 years). The Supercheap replacements have not failed so far. I carry a spare in the glovebox for when the last remaining Toyota coil gives up.
