NC 2.0 to 2.5 swap
Hi Guys,
Looking at swapping out my 2.0 for a 2.5 in my NC prod sports racecar.
Can anyone give me a idea on budget required to do the swap?
I’ve noticed a few donor engines for $800-1500 on eBay.
I already have supporting mods currently fitted to my 2.0 but would look at the EcuTek software for tuning.
Cheers!

Boyracer recently advertised and sold such a race car - you missed it.
There's also a recent-ish thread about a guy who did it to his street car (first two engines he got were duds). Clubman93 (the Oracle of Info) will know where that is...

And IIRC, Nuddy has also done it even more recently, but not sure if he's provided detail: viewtopic.php?f=57&t=75248

Re: NC 2.0 to 2.5 swap
if you can swing a spanner you be able to do it cheap.
If not, some people have payed around $8K for the conversion

Re: NC 2.0 to 2.5 swap
Thanks for the info guys.
$8000 fitted seems a lot for what is essentially labour only and the engine is a drop in.
This is what I am trying to work out....
If a engine is say $1200 surly there is not $7000 in labour??

You ever built an engine and put it in the wrong car and tuned it up all running perfect and warrantied it before, right before paying the rent power insurance and the tax man? It adds up.

$1200 sounds too cheap for a good engine. The first guy who did it got two dud engines initially, only discovered after installation (multiple engine removals required).

Guys I’m about to go through this. I paid $500 for an alleged 50k km engine - I’m feeling worried
Anyone got a parts and suppliers list? I already have an upgraded header and a new clutch on the 2.0.

Thanks Regie, i saw that and whilst it’s a good list I was hoping there might be some local Aussie suppliers.
I’m assuming you can use the 2.0l ecu?
Appreciate that the ECU-tek tune does give a lot of HP but it’s also not cheap.

Re: NC 2.0 to 2.5 swap
2.0l ECU can be used, buy you WILL need to have it tuned for the 2.5. So factor in $1K max for licence, tune, cable etc etc

Having had a look at the Qld transport website it looks like this engine swap doesn’t need engineering.
