SE oil pump standard spec

Postby Aiming Faster » Mon Nov 06, 2017 5:51 pm

Hi all, anyone know if the original SE oil pump has the extra capacity to operate VVT mechanism? I will rebore my '99 BP block and fit a VVT head, utilising the VVT function of Megasquirt 3. Thanks.

From memory the vvt oil pump had better (thicker, more robust) gears and an improved pressure relief valve orifice.
Sorry i cannot comment on whether the SE pump was the improved type or not. If you can provide a pic of the oil pump innards you intend to use i can verify which type it is.

SE has VVT pump. It is a higher flow design than earlier pumps as has been mentioned.
