NA6 axel/half shaft spline count

Postby Eeyore » Fri Apr 28, 2017 8:15 pm

Just wondering what the spline count of a NA6 half shaft is? Also diameter might be handy information. Trying to fit a NA6 LSD to an early Mazda (70's) 6" CW.

They are the same 24 spline as the other model Mazdas...... I use a pair of them when rebuilding and resetting the 24 spline LSD's for the RX2's etc. The LSD's should be interchangable..... The Familia and NA6 gears sets are the same size as the small Mazda diff.

Following this too. I'm building an open wheeler race car using a chain dríven NA6 open diff. So you're saying, Flycasta, that other Mazda one piece shafts will fit the diff?

If they are Mazda 24 spline axles from solid rear diff, not IRS, the axles are the same spline count and diameter. ie..... RX2 , RX7 S1 and S2, R100, RX3, RX4 12A, 121 and various others ( all various lengths though). Make sure you try and slide the axle into the open centre or LSD first though..... The axle diameter might be larger than the opening to the centre.

The Diff bearings and seals for the NA6 diff are getting harder to get hold of though and can be quite expensive.
