Just did an SE muffler swap on my NB but I didn't change the old gasket. Could this possibly cause an exhaust leak.

Here is the video.

I left the old gasket on, it looked mullered but it works. Depending on how bad yours is leaking it may 'self seal' with soot, plus not all leaks are MOT fails, only if it makes the car excessively noisy, or there is a danger of carbon monoxide poisoning, and I wouldn't have thought the latter would apply.

Yeah true, mine didn't look that bad. Just not sure how loud the SE swap should.be that's why I'm worried. I haven't properly checked yet

You are asking US if you have an exhaust leak? Let me check...

Just start the car, put your hand over join, check for a breeze. How simple.

I checked by using a small piece of tissue held between my index finger and thumb. Hold next to join if it moves, then it's leaking.
