Just replaced the open diff with a torsen and encountered a seized half shaft in the hub.
Saw 15 ton on the hydraulic press, and it wouldn't move.
Bearings in hub are quiet and not running hit.
Any clues or do l look for another half shaft and hub.

Soak it with good penetrating oil and leave for 24hrs.

Put it back on the press, fire up the press and if it doesn't come out straight away, leave it on the press as long as you can, even overnight.

Just to clarify, the reason for separating them is ... ?

Depending on how long you have, you can just keep applying penetrating oil to the splines over a week and then try pressing it again. Or better yet leave it in the press with a couple of Kg's pressure on it while soaking.
They just rust in there. There is no seal to stop water getting to the nut/hub/CV and they are rarely pulled apart due to the sealed bearings so the just rust solid.

If it was me and the seized assembly was quiet and ran the same temp as the other side I'd just leave it alone till it caused problems.

If you have access to a gas torch heat the shaft in the press. You should be succesful. When you put them back together coat the splines with plenty of never seez.

Thanks for all replies guys. Once we got the axle nut off (difficult) l thought l'd check the bearing, and that's when l found out it wouldn't budge.
It's back together now, so l'll see how it goes. Really did not want to tie up someone's press for an excessive amount of time in a commercial workshop.
A track day or two should tell me if l have a weak point.
I guess 18 years is a long time in anyone's terms not to be pulled apart.
