On NB8A it goes to connector at the front centre of rocker cover.

which end, the fire wall or radiator end?

i can't find it for the life of me. its a black connector and cant find anything within reach of the cord that fits it. truly bizarre.

say the connector is no longer there where would it trace back to? makes me wonder if its just not there at all.

Rear of the cam cover on the passenger side on an NA8, just above the CAS. The lead to it comes from the loom which goes around the back of the inlet manifold and under the coilpacks. The O2 sensor plug on the loom is attached to a tab on a CAS saddle bolt. If it came off that tab then I guess it would fall to the top of the clutch housing.

Nb8a will be clipped to a small bracket at the front of the rocker cover, the bracket attaches to one of the bolts near the exhaust cam pulley

Black 4 pin plug, 4 wires to it with a Black high temp sleeve over them.
One wire is blue (o2 signal)
And from memory the others are red, black and grey (might have them confused with the wires on my Bosch sensor)
