Engine Bay Weather Seal -Where To buy

Postby billybunter » Mon Jun 20, 2016 5:40 pm

Just wondering where in Oz I could buy that thin strip of rubber with several of the white plastic clips which seals the motor section from the cowl section. Mine appears a bit squashed now so thought a replacement may be in order
Thanks

Mazda spare parts would likely be the easiest for the ready to go part.

Alternatively, a simple rubber extrusion from Clarke Rubber would work, just means you'd need to sit down and poke the clips in yourself.

the easiest option, if yours is just squished rather than split, is to get a length of foam, or rubber tubing that you can slide inside the hollow cavity of the current seal.
That will pad it out and support the rubber (since over time it weakens and distorts)

Another option....
I didn't have anything suitable to slide inside cavity, but had some adhesive backed rubber (not foam) door/window weather seal.
Stuck it to the u/side of bonnet, above existing squashed seal
