How / where do the clutch line and harness brackets bolt on?

So, replacing the engine in my 2001 NB8B. All going well as I had the foresight to mark / label everything. However, someone has already been in there before me, and the clutch hydraulic line bracket and the wiring harness bracket that lives in the same area weren't bolted on when I took the old engine out. Someone had also left one of the two topmost gearbox to engine bolts out.....

Can anyone help with a picture or description of where they go ? It looks like the clutch bracket goes onto one of the bolts that hold the starter motor on, although google is a bit vague on whether it is the bolt closer to the centreline of the car, or the outermost one. Or perhaps it varies by year model ?

Same with the bracket on the wiring harness in the same spot, does it also bolt onto the starter bolts ? If so, which one ?

I've spent the last hour or so googling without success, and the service manual / parts lists aren't much help either.

This guide is for NA but it's all going to be pretty much the same for the locations you are looking for.
There are some good photos in this guide that show routing of the clutch line and where the wiring sits before the box came out "in car"

Good Luck.

Thanks for the link - all sorted

It wasn't luck that I needed, just patience. Lots of patience. If I ever need to replace the starter motor, I'm going to pay someone to do it.......

I replaced the complex clutch line set-up with a simple braided line (from MX5 Solutions, Canberra) straight down from master to slave cylinder. More efficient and much easier to work with - gets rid of all the rubbish.

Great point Peter B. I wish I'd used the line straight down from master to slave cylinder. Boy oh boy did I cut my hands and fore arms fitting a braded line in the original spot!

I'll 3rd the shorty clutch line.
I put one on when I replaced the master cylinder last year. $50 got it made up at a local workshop from a template I made from a bit of fencing wire. Rubber was fine for my needs.

Rolley that's what I want to do when I replace the slave.

My harness bracket has been floating around since I bought the car. Glad to finally know what it is!

Will try to bolt it up properly when I fit the cops, if it's still required at that point.
