Opinion is subjective to the person giving it. What do you want the forum to say? Asking a subjective answer on a forum will more than likely get more negative than positive comments due to the anonymity that the internet gives.
aladdin96 what is your goals with the car:
1. Stance
2. Hard parking
3. Drifting
4. Race/Track
5. Daily drive
6. Money pit
7. No real direction just modding
8. Insert others...
Reving whilst stationary does not give any indication of real sound or power improvements...
This is nice noise (and power)
This is mine
Another naturally aspirated car. The owners/drivers are a great bunch.

Re: What you Guys Think??
Thanks guys. Droning on highway is extremely minimal. It seems to only scream at half throttle and full throttle. On highway it is very quiet.
My car is a daily driver. I drive everywhere with this. I go uni, work, hang outs and mountain runs in this baby.
I have to admit that I did fell a big increase power through out the rev range. ESPECIALLY at low rpm. Would like to track someday ;)

Re: What you Guys Think??
Thanks! I asked because I hope to do something similar to my NA6 some day. May I ask how much it cost, including fitting, and where you had it done?aladdin96 wrote:Droning on highway is extremely minimal. It seems to only scream at half throttle and full throttle. On highway it is very quiet.
So, are you saying your car now has better acceleration from a standing start?aladdin96 wrote:I have to admit that I did fell a big increase power through out the rev range. ESPECIALLY at low rpm.

Re: What you Guys Think??
I bought the car with a custom Catback already installed. I had stock headers and stock Cat. All up it costed me around 450+ including headers and MagnaFlow Highflow Cat.
Id say that from take off to around 5500 it feels much better than before. After that it theres notm much difference but definitely less restriction in the system.
However it really shines and pulls at around 3500 to 5000 rpm

Re: What you Guys Think??
The 'arse' dyno is not very accurate. It would have helped if you had before and after dyno plots.
The 'arse' dyno seeks to justify the spend by making you think there is a vast improvement whereas it could just be noise you are hearing and translating this into performance increase.
More noise must be better and arse confirms the improvement or are you a victim of outcome bias or confirmation bias or anchoring?

You may be right. The 'arse' dyno is not accurate. But i can say it is a good development and achievement compared to stock. When i had stock headers and cat. It was still loud but felt restrictive.
Is it better that I say it is rev happier? ;)

I'm not sure why everyone here seems to think that there is little to be gained from these mods.I have probably seen at least a dozen cars on before and after dyno runs and they have all made resonable, typically 4-8 RWKWpower , and picked up more torque.
As always it does depend on what the condition of the exhaust that was removed was.
Congrats on your mods is the catback 2 1/4 inch, sounds a little bit like stainless as it has bit more rasp than most?
Hope you are pleased with it, enjoy!
Peter.
.Now ND2 Roadster prev NC2 Recaro's ,BBS wheels,full exhaust, Tiens NA 1.6.NA 1.8 LE(106RWKW)NC1,NC2.ND 1.5 .

Re: What you Guys Think??
Thanks Peter
The Headers are Mild steel. The cat i think is a Metal one. And the custom catback is stainless. I realised abit of rasp but thank god its a nice note of it.
I wanted to stay away from stainless steel headers for this reason. The sound is much better in real life as technology seems to give it more of a higher pitch.
Yes its 2 1/4 inch
But Yes, like I said. In my own car i have definitely felt a difference. I dont easily fall to tricks of the mind. I like to see results and feel them. As I feel it in my mx5.
