Hey Guys,
Just ordered a 42mm ASI Radiator off eBay based off research on this forum. Seller has just contacted me letting me know that, the current design (or batch) leaks.
Thought I'd pass along the warning.
Cheers

I ordered and installed one of these two weeks ago. No leaks that I'm aware of, in saying that I have only done around 150 Km since the install. Will have to keep a check on the water level.
Thanks for the heads up.

if you dig even a little you will find complaints. You should not find one fault in 100 rads- i.e. 100 responses on purchase and no faults found. 1 in 100 is a complete failure for OEMs- the maker would never get a contract. People buy because they are cheap.

AT LEAST THE SELLER LET HIM KNOW
He didn't say how many of the batch were crook
I presume he would be replacing under warranty
Myself and many others who put them into their cars 4-5 years ago have had no problems (touch wood)
Here goes MM with only OEM is good again

I just purchased one, the price randomly jumped up $20 this week, so maybe they've decided to spend the extra coin on Construction and/or QC?
I will definitely be checking for leaks, thanks for the heads-up!

Have heard of a few of these leaking over the years, but they've always sent out a replacement without requring return of the leaking one.

None of this makes sense to me. Its pretty clear that the quality is not good and buying a new radiator it should have no defects- a failed radiator can mean a cooked engine. OEMs expect zero defects although they have a lot of clout.

Yes MM just look at all the call backs on all the OEM new cars of various brands lately
There is good and bad in anything

I purchased a 42mm variant for my '92 back in October. I fitted it over the weekend and while it holds pressure just fine, it was a tight fit (both fans are up against the front sway bar) and the lower fan mount holes didn't line up with either of the fans. So I've got some modifying to do to fix that.
It was cheap and I wasn't expecting the world, so at least it's sealed!
