headlight idle

Nb8b,

Turn the headlights on and the revs drop 100rpm but do not rise.

Could anyone advise on this?

Have you checked charging voltage before/after lights are switched on? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but usual charge rate is around 13.7v (or slightly higher), if this drops below about 13v when lights are switched on there's an issue with the alternator or it's cabling. Could also be a loose belt, deteriorating earth ...

Dud battery? Tighten the battery terminals?
