Cam angle sensor position nb8a

Postby DarrylA » Thu Mar 26, 2015 2:09 pm

Hi guys
I posted an earlier question re posting of the CAS but now need more info.
It's a BP4W head on an NB8A, running a Microtech L10c ecu. Valve cover is a full cut away exposing cam gears. Nothing left for a CAS.
I believe that the CAS is very sensitive re positioning. Any clues on how to do this properly.
I think someone said in my earlier post if your running an aftermarket ecu you can run the CAS off the rear of the cam. Am I dreaming, and if not how do you do that.
Any guidenance re this would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers :NB8A: :?:

Most of the ones I've seen have simply left the CAS attachment in place when cutting the front of the cover.

With an aftermarket ECU i believe you can program it to read a different sensor/signal, so positioning isn;t as important (you simply tell it what the new position is)

The CAS is simply so the ECU knows what position the cams/crank are at at a given point.
