Quick question EWP and Temperature Sender

Postby Sage » Tue Feb 24, 2015 9:26 am

Hi all,

Just a quick one,

I have a davis craig electronic water pump setup on my NA. It was running the factory temp sensor above the thermostat as well as another that comes with the EWP.

Do i need to run both? Considering i dont have a thermostat anymore? And the aftermarket temp sender controls the EWP..

Does the factory temp gauge use the factory temp sensor above the thermostat or does it the temp it from somewhere else?

Thanks very much

On the NA6, which has three temp sensors, as opposed to two on the NA8, the NA6 factory temp gauge uses one of the two temp sensors at the back of the head. The other at the back of the head is for the ECU, & the front temp sensor is for the fan/s. See pic at figure 5 half way down this page: http://www.miata.net/garage/CoolingSystemProblems.html
