Cam Angle Sensor Positioning BP4W

To go with my newly modified head, I Just picked myself up a great looking exposed cam gear valve cover.
Upon looking at my standard valve cover I see the cam angle sensor on the front, but on my new modified valve cover there is no place for it.
How do I mount the cam angle sensor now, and ensure it is in the correct position?
Many thanks

You'll need to create a bracket to replicate the factory location or covert back to the exhaust am drive CAS.
Just a FYI, exposed cam gears will attract police attention.

on the NB8A most people I've seen will leave the sensor area intact while cutting.
By the sounds of it, it's too late for that, so the best option will be to try and make a bracket up.

Thanks for the response guys.
I'll take onboard the Police bit.
Being an old fart, hopefully I won't create too much attention.

Unless you're doing stupid things the police won't usually care.
As for the exposed gears, the Mazda 323 (which also used the BP like an MX5) had a plastic cover for the gears, you may be able to get one from a wrecker and adapt it to fit if you want an easily removable cover.

Or if you're using an aftermarket ecu you could get a CAS sensor and plug it into the back of the head like I've done. I've also got the removable cam gear cover from a 323 astina so I can cover the gears up if I need to. Won't fit unless you have a coolant reroute though.

Bartman are they the garage star pulleys? I've been tempted a few times but always found something more urgent for my $$

Nah they're just the stock BP-4W pulleys but painted silver.

hey Bartman, what was the CAS sensor off? is it NA8 material?
are they pretty bullet proof compared to the NB8A ones do you know?

Can either get them from a na6 or na8. They're different sensors but both output the same signal. Not really sure if they are more reliable though.
