Help me identify SE parts (heat shields?) not reinstalled

Among several parts not reinstalled by the engine builder are these:
Shield 1 small.jpg
Shield 2 small.jpg
Anyone able to identify them and how important they are - or are not?

They are both exhaust heat shields. They wrap around the "elbow" between the turbo and dump pipe. The circular cut out section is where the O2 sensor goes.

Thanks. How important are they, if at all? How or why would they have been left off?

Because your new exhaust does not have the mounts for them to bolt to.
Considering how small they are, they would not do a lot of heat shielding.
