Clutch Line reroute

Has anyone trimmed the clutch hydraulic line at the drivers side of the engine bay and run a short braided line to the slave? It seams silly to run the clutch line all the way to the hot side of the engine bay and then back again across the transmission to the slave.
I would think the cheap braided LHD clutch lines would fit well if the clutch line is cut and flared where it comes out of the master or plumbed directly into the master.

Automotive Plus do a braided line that deletes the hard line. It goes straight from the master to the slave. A few other companies do them as well, but you have to be careful with the LHD ones as they're short than needed because they just replace the rubber hose between the hard line and slave - not master to slave.

Automtive Plus are closed I think till 05/01/15. Just tell them the same as Mark Collingwood's NA6.

No rush... Would like like to tidy up the engine bay a bit. I had a bit of a spongy clutch last event and I think the metal line got hot as it sits right next to my extractors.

you need to start up a MX5 parts exchange... East to West coast.
Unfortunately I don't think a NB subframe could be classed as luggage.

Happy to do a freight service whilst I'm doing this roster. Must be able to be taken as luggage and no more than 25kg

I had a custom one in my NA, and one straight from mx5 plus in my SE now.
I love the feel of it, it's a very noticeable difference, hard to explain but it's very smooth with reduced pedal travel. There is minimal movement between engaged/disengaged and take up point, so you can change gears really quickly and easily.
Highly recommended

Didn't think there would be much if any performance gain given the clutch is less pressure than the brakes. I suppose the shorter line with zero expansion makes a difference.
