Hey guys trying to diagnose what might be causing my cabin to contaminate with carbon monoxide smell/gasses can't really tell when driving but when I get home my clothes smell like as if I been out riding a motorbike.

Roof is up, windows are down, fan turned off, system set to recirculate.
Temp set to cold.

Car is a na8

Are there any common problems to check for before sending car into shop to diagnose.

Pull centre console out, check the rubber surround on the shifter. If it's torn badly enough, you can get fumes in the cabin.

Nope it's intact check when I installed short shifter. I'm suspecting exhaust leak, can exhaust shops find exhaust leaks and repair them island they're small?

Takes them about 5 minutes to find a leak and they mostly don't charge. It's the repair work they want. They put it up on a hoist and either restrict the tailpipe and listen for hisses or else smoke test it.

I'd be getting the exhaust looked at, it probably has a leak somewhere, and it's probably coming in through the gearbox tunnel.

If there's a fuel smell it may also be the fuel tank, since that's right behind you when in the car, might have a weeping hose, or a blocked vent.

Mine stinks when stopped because of an oil leak from the sump. I hope yours isn't the same fault as it's a pain to fix.

If it is genuinely exhaust, the likely two places are the flange connecting the exhaust header to the cylinder head, or the flange connecting the exhaust header to the cat pipe (which is at around knee level when sitting in the car, but on the passenger side).

If its from the cylinder head, the fumes may be coming in via the heater hose holes in the firewall, rather than via the transmission tunnel.

FYI CO is odourless - but obviously is a component of exhaust gas.
Pilots carry around CO sensors for peace of mind, since you can't smell it;
