I have a 92 na6 and im wanting to get a reliable 250hp to 300hp. Just wondering if a built 1.8 turbo'd would be alright for that or would i be better off going for a sr20 swap instead. And if anyone knows the cost of building a 1.8 compaired to an sr swap. Thanks

Go the SR20 swap. The important question is what is your budget and how long are you planning to take?
FAST,RELIABLE,CHEAP ... pick any two.

Key Questions.
Budget ?
Street Legal or Not ?
What does reliable mean to you ? (20-30 hours of operation is super reliable in some worlds)

250whp is easy with basic internal upgrades to a BP (rods, pistons and if you're keen, valve train) and a Disco Potato.
For reliability, add an oil cooler, Boundary oil pump, and a cross flow radiator with a coolant reroute.
This will be cheaper and easier than an engine swap.

I will still want it to be street legal. As for my budget ill probably be around 10-12k but thats including diff and driveline etc.
Timeline doesnt really matter though id rather it not be more then a few months.
Thanks for your replies

Might be easier to sell yours and just buy an SE they are going backwards in price.
Street legal and in an NA6 you will likely need significant brake upgrades etc ...
LS1 or any engine above 3.0 litres is out for the NA/NB

Allow 1-1.5k for engineering to make it legal. Turbo b6/bp with Nb8b brakes should pass easily

or sell NA, buy SE with intake and exhaust already done, replace the turbo, injectors and ECU with proper ones supplied by one workshop who give you a fixed price for the whole job, finished, within an agreed timescale. Stay under 10psi unless/until you do the bottom end and the cooling.

That's a fair bit more than $10-$12k, even with selling the NA I'd say...
