Standard SE Exhaust

Hi I'm a newby to MX5 mods but my car is in need of a new exhaust can I fit a 2004 standard SE full exhaust system to my stock 99 NB8A and will I notice any performance difference.
Any advice is appreciated.

It is a yes and no answer..
I have a 98 NB8A and am about to do the same. (once I can drive my car again)
The SE exhaust from the turbo has 3 pieces. 1) Off the dump with Cat. 2) Mid pipe to muffler. 3) rear muffler.
The back 2 pieces will fit and the Mid pipe will bolt up to the stock muffler.
You will need to have fitted a Cat in the gap left between the headers and the mid pipe. (this is the point I am at)
Is there any gain? (I hope so, although mild)
The stock exhaust is only 2 inch, the SE is 2.25 inch and is stainless so should improve air flow.

Nb8a and 8b midpipes are completely different.
The only part that will work is the rear muffler

Can confirm Reggie's comments. I have a SE exhaust on my turbo'd NB8B.
The SE exhaust is a little more free flowing than the N/A exhaust. Power differences will be almost negligible, it will be a little louder on an N/A, not much but the faster feels is mostly likely a placebo effect of the noise. If you want a few bonus KW headers and a high flow cat to replace the old clogged up one is the best bet.

Ok, confirmation of what is possible.
The mid pipe meets correctly to the rear muffler but at the front is the wrong angle to join the headers.
Solution. Cut off front flange and weld new Cat in with flange that meets the headers.
Could have got it done cheaper if I know quite what was required but I will post up a pic on the weekend of the result.
Feels better than the stock exhaust. (Dyno but FTW)

keen for a pic if you still have one. I bought a "SE" exhaust from ebay and the mid pipe is about 3" shorter than my factory NBB. Judging by the muffler its not factory either. Currently weighing up options on either getting a flex join made up, or extending the mid pipe, or buying headers now and combining the first two with the "final" exhaust setup.
