If it's an NA6 1.6L Kaaz, then yes.

If it is a 1.8L (7 inch) Kaaz, then no, it will not fit.

It is a NA6 1.6L kaaz but i was reading on another forum that its not a good idea to use the stock housing as it is a weak point. This is what was posted on the other forum:

"do NOT get a Kaaz or cusco unit for a 1.6. The rest of the differential simply isn't strong enough. It will just chew up and spit gear teeth out through the casing"

Can anyone confirm if this is true??

it puts more pressure on the driveline yes. the NA6s are known for weakness. but unless you plan on dropping huge skids, then you should be fine. but this is the risk with any mod you do to a car to make it doe faster, it always stresses out another part.

I happen to have a heavily reinforced NA6 diff casing that I might be persuaded to sell for the right price... :) PM if interested.

There are alot of blown na6 duffs happening in QLD at the moment judging by Facebook. I'm not sure if age is finally getting to them of if the new owners are abusing them.

Just so you know, a 1.6 diff won't fir into a 1.8 housing AFAIK.

So if you've already got the centre, you may as well just put it into a 1.6 housing.

Sailaholic, when you say blown diff, is it the casing letting go or internals breaking? My NA6 is now competing in motorkhanas, so lots of hand brake turns etc.

Id say it would be the internals as most seem to be talking about them making lots of noise.

Believe that zossy1 used to have the exact same 1.6 kaaz in his race car.

Yep but if you go turbo or supercharged, you really should move to a 1.8L diff. The 1.6L does not cope well with power levels over 200whp or even abusive driving at power levels below that.

JakeeyJones, Do you have more than 200 hp at the wheels?
(That's about 200Kw at the engine isn't it???)

I don't mind if you decide to not purchase it from me. Eventually I will get around to advertising it, amongst all the other parts I've been hoarding :)

The Kaaz is a kick ass diff. All but the most abused race car or high boost road car would find this diff a big improvement over a non-clutch LSD and a massive jump over an open diff.

Sorry to high hack the thread....

Would there be any issues with putting the kaaz diff into nb8a housing?

Only if you get one made for a nba. The centre discussed here is for a na6.
Na6 and na8/nba centres are not interchangeable. :)
