I can't talk for MiataRoadster as I don't have one. I do have a Cobalt short shifter from Moss. I'm very happy with it. There were no fittment issue either. It was a hell of a lot cheaper than the miataRoadster too. Having said that, the more expensive one may well be four times better, who knows, but I'm happy.

You have a na8 with 6sp ?
Pretty much heard good things about the SSK, PM me to sell your old one,
If is was $200 I would bite the bullet but it seems like a lot for some chromed stick and some rubber gaskets etc.

Iv just put a miataroadster shifter into my SE.
I can't vouch for other units but fitment and build quality was too notch.
Everything lined up. Feel is great, stiffer to change gears but after the first few drives I got use to it and I barely notice now.
Oh and on an SE the change from 1st to 2nd is quick enough that you stay in the power band. It was a bit hit and miss before, if you were too slow to change the revs drop you out of boost.
Car is a tad quicker now with the quicker gear change ;)

Prior to the miataroadster ssk many ssks were hit and miss and many people just avoided the gamble and stuck with the oem stick.
The miataroadster ssk has the best reputation and I love mine.

Miataroadster kit includes the top and bottom rubber boots which most other kits don't include.
Had mine for a couple of years now and still liking the feel and find a huge difference when stepping back into a stock 6sp.

Forgotten which brand mine is. Thought it was great. Have since added an extender which makes it even better. The only downside is a rattle on hard acceleration which has always been there, Will appreciate advice on how to get rid of the rattle.

Dave, you need a new Nylon bush on the ball of your shifter. I will find where I got mine and send you a link.
I have a Mazdaspeed short shifter in Scooby. Not cheap, but worth every cent. I had 4 others before this and nothing even comes close. These things are OEM quality.
It sits exactly in the right spot and just feels beautiful to shift.
Colster had one in his race car and he told me where to buy it, also Dave has one in Goldie.
